Though not densely populated, the Cedar area offers several dining opportunities that please locals and area residents alike: there are two British inspired public houses, the Crow and Gate Pub and the Wheatsheaf Pub; fine dining in the casual setting of the Mahle House a restored heritage home on an acre of English-style gardens and built in 1904; the Coco Cafe offering breakfast and lunch options, while the Cassidy Country Kitchen on the border with Extension offers home-cooked meals.
