The Richard’s Creek and Wetlands, a creek over 2 km in length that widens into an expansive wetland through the Cinnabar Valley, is a popular trail and bird watching destination as the creek empties into the Nanaimo River Estuary - the largest estuary on Vancouver Island and home to over 238 bird species.
